Grass is greener where you water it
Beware of anything that comes easy and that does not involve the CROSS. It’s probably a counterfeit, so run away from those things. Anything that comes easy without the cross is a counterfeit.
If your job is getting tougher and very hard and you know it’s part of your calling, the enemy will say “I have an easy option for you. Just quit and I will give you something better and easier for you.” Run away from those easy thoughts. If your marriage is getting tougher and in ruins, the enemy will say “I have an easy option for you. Just quit and I will give you a better and easier option.” The grass is not greener on the other side. The grass is greener where you water it. Run away from those easy options that can destroy the GREATNESS that lies before you! GREATNESS comes at a cost!
When Nehemiah was building the broken wall of Jerusalem he faced severe oppositions and distractions. He was given lots of offers by the enemies to give up his project. But Nehemiah understood the principle of the cross. He said, “I am involved in a GREAT WORK and I cannot come down to you.”
Jesus was given an offer by Satan. Satan asked Jesus to bow and worship him and in return he offered to give the whole world. Jesus knew that his primary mission was to go to the Cross. So he denied that offer.
A few days before Jesus was crucified a few Greeks came to see Jesus. At that point Jesus knew his time to go to the cross was near because by doing that he would make a way for all the people and not just the Jews, to know God. In other words he knew his time to be broken was near.
So Jesus said this, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Very truly I tell you, unless a kernel of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains only a single seed. But if it dies, it produces many seeds. Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. ” 4
Have you ever seen a kernel of wheat? It is very small. It represents your life and my life. Your life is very small in this vast space we live in, called the earth. But your life has got eternal significance and purpose, which is infinitely huge. That seed was a normal seed before it fell to the ground but it became a hugely significant seed after it fell to the ground as it started giving life to many other seeds. If that seed had not fallen to the ground it would have remained alone, small and insignificant.
Likewise you need to surrender your life to God if you want to do something significant and huge.
